Buying Loyalty

I read in the Times that Trump is planning to give over $400,000 to his subordinates to help pay their legal fees in connection with the investigation of collusion with the Russians.

How is this not prima facie evidence of obstruction of justice? If a subordinate accepts the money, is that not making an implicit promise not to reveal any compromising information about Trump’s own behavior? This question answers itself.

Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post wrote a column pointing out the already more than sufficient evidence of Trump’s culpability in this regard.

A few Republican Senators and Congressmen, even ex-president Bush are starting to wake up to the need to remove Trump from office. Let’s hope that it is not too late.
